I studied art as a young woman during my first year at the University of Texas at Arlington, then I married a soldier and spent the next 15 years moving from post to post with him while raising my children.  When my husband passed away, I returned to college, but I had two children to support so I chose, out of necessity, to get my degree in business management rather than art.  I recently retired after a long career in telecommunications and finally have the time to return to my first love - art.  My 83 year-old mother laughingly refers to me as "Grandma Moses".  Not because my art is anything at all like the style of Grandma Moses, but because I began seriously working as an artist relatively late in life, just as Grandma Moses did.

I am mostly self-taught through books and video and occasional classes with local artists.  My landscapes and seascapes are painted in oils and my birds and animals are typically done in acrylics.  My inspirations come from places that range from the majestic and awe-inspiring to those that are peaceful and soothing to the soul.  It gives me great pleasure to capture these places, and the birds and animals that live in them, on canvas.
